Gene Andrews, 82, a 50 year resident of Bay Village, formerly of East Cleveland, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018. He was born in Cleveland July 28, 1935. Gene was a High School Graduate of St. Ignatius High School. He was in the U.S. Army and a member of the shooting team. He worked as an electrician on various jobs in Northeast Ohio including Standard Oil, Perry Nuclear Plant and LTV Steel. He ended his employment by retiring from General Motors after 15 years of service in 1998. Gene was a member of Holy Spirit Church where he was a Lector and taught PSR. He was a member of the American Legion Post 211, member of IBEW Local 38, UAW Local 1005 and a life-time member of the NRA. Gene also enjoyed spending time fishing, running, playing guitar and shooting. Gene is survived by his wife of 55 years Constance Margaret (nee Edelberg); children Mike (Julie Cusumano) of Portland, OR and Sean (Lisa Ellis) of Cleveland; grandchildren Max, Kennedy, Scarlet, Sophia, Lena and Ana; siblings Betsy Kim, Ed, Tom, Claire Andrews and Dan. He is preceded in death by his parents Floyd Eugene and Bernadette (nee Labbe) Andrews. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to a charity of choice. Friends may call at BUSCH FUNERAL HOME 32000 DETROIT RD, AVON Wednesday, January 10th from 5pm to 8pm. Prayers will be held Thursday, January 11th at 9:15am at the Funeral Home with Mass to follow at Holy Spirit Church 410 Lear Rd., Avon Lake, OH at 10am..with Father Dan Fickes to officiate.
