Gene Bradley
April 14, 1951 – September 27, 2021
Gene Bradley, of Mills River, North Carolina, entered into rest on Monday, September 27, 2021. Gene was born on April 14, 1951 in Skyland, North Carolina and spent his entire life in his beloved mountains.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Furman and Margaret H. Bradley, and brother Wendall Bradley.
Gene is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Estella Bradley; twin sister Joan Nash (Bill), sister Wilma Ray (William), brother David Bradley (Renee'); Sons, Mark Bryson (Shannon), Walter Bryson (Tanya), and Matthew Bryson (Yvette); Grandchildren, Taylor R. McDavid (Catie), Wyatt Bryson (Emma), Sirena D. Bryson and Seth Harrelson; Great Grandson, Bryson Clark McDavid; many nephews, nieces and a host of beloved friends.
Gene spent many years building in Western NC as a licensed General Contractor. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, visiting and laughing with friends but Gene's greatest loves were family and His Lord.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Groce Funeral Home, 72 Long Shoals Road, Arden, NC 28704 with Pastor Ron Benzing officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Asheville. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Four Seasons Hospice Care, 506 Park Hill Court, Hendersonville, NC and Emmanuel Baptist Church, 11 Pennsylvania Road, Mills River, NC.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

Our hearts are heavy with sadness. Gene has been a part of our family for 30+ years. So kind and generous. Always willing to help out. Hershall so enjoyed his company and the fun they had hunting. He will be missed.
