Funeral service for Gene Elledge, age 92, of Garland, Texas will be held at 3:00P.M. on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Tapp Funeral Home with Buddy Wiggins officiating. Interment will follow at Yantis Cemetery with Andy Elledge, Brett Clark, Zach Clark, Billy Elledge, Cory King and David Sparks serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Mr. Elledge passed away on August 17, 2024 at his residence.
Gene was born on July 10, 1932 in Yantis, Texas to Haskell and Lois (Foster) Elledge. He married Louise Harris on January 3, 1958 in Dallas Texas. Gene was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked as a truck driver until he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Louise; sons, Don Elledge and Ron Elledge; daughter, Susan Clark; grandchildren, Suzi King, Jamie Sparks, Billy Elledge, Kristalle Ulrich, Andy Elledge, Cameron Clark, and Zach Clark; great grandchildren, Leslie King, Randi King, Aiden Sparks, Wyatt Sparks, Lane Sparks, Rylee Ulrich, Cutler Elledge, Ryder Elledge, and Milo Lillie.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Doran Elledge and Gorman Elledge.
