Gene Louis Federico "Bofedz" age 69, beloved husband of Kathleen (nee Cahill); loving father of Dina Federico (partner – Geoff Schmidt), Vince Christopher, Michael Federico, Joseph (Elmedina) Federico; son of the late Michael Louis "Lefty" and Carmela (nee Calabrese); brother of Patricia Greene (Willett) (both deceased), Joseph "Butch" (deceased) (wife Ronnie), Michael (Annie) (both deceased), Carmen "Gary"(deceased) (wife Mickey). He is also survived by his precious nieces and nephews.

Gene passed away on July 10, 2025 after a long courageous battle with cancer. He worked for the City of Cleveland as a Water Department Inspector and retired after 30+ years.

He was a proud graduate of Collinwood High School. His Collinwood neighborhood gave him friends that he grew up with and have remained close to this day. His "Coumbas" were his family. He can be remembered as "Coach". He spent all of his children's years coaching, football as well as baseball and basketball. He loved coaching the kids and was an excellent coach and mentor. It really was his passion and provided him with so much joy. Along with his neighborhood friends, Gene was also blessed with more friends along the way that became family. His Italian heritage and family traditions were a very important part of his life and legacy.

The family will receive friends at Brickman Bros. Funeral Home, 37433 Euclid Ave. in Willoughby on Sunday July 13, 2025 from 1-4 PM.
