Geneva Dillion Gaulden
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyed; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away." Revelation 21:4
Geneva Dillion Gaulden was born April 14, 1948, to the late Leroy and Rosie Dillion in Quentin, MS. She moved to Picayune, MS as a young woman and became a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Later, she followed Reverend Louis Thomas, Sr. to Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she was a faithful active member of multiple organizations. She served for many years as the President of the Adult Choir, active Mission president, one of the heads of the Pastor's Aide Committee, Spiritual Advisor over the Youth Choir and the head of the Beautification Committee. She was very compassionate about her work at the church.
Geneva worked over 30 years at Stennis Space Center until she retired. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Geneva was also known for giving encouraging words, being loving and nurturing to those in the community and always there to give a helping hand. She was the founder of the Retirement Club. Having known her was to love her.
Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Rosie Lee Dillon, one daughter, Denise Dover, and five siblings, Kenny Watts, Patricia Jones, Albert Hurst, Genette Crockett and David Dillon.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Joseph Gaulden; four daughters, Danisha (Walter) Dillion-Williams, Kourtney Dover, Shauna (Vill) Stoute, Carla (Gary) Bell; one son, Christopher Magee; three brothers, Donnie (Maxine) Dillon, James Dillon, Ronnie (Juanita) Watts; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a host of loved ones, family, friends including a very special young lady, Nadia Bonds.
