Elister “Pig” Harrell

“Do not grieve; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10

Elister accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Rev. E.H. Hart and joined New Hebron Baptist Church. Later in life he joined First Baptist Church in Picayune, MS. under the leadership of Rev. Tony Lambert.

Elister attended Pearl River Central school system in Carriere, MS. He was given the nickname “Pig” by his mother because he weighed over 10 lbs at birth. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and cookouts. He was also a lover of all types of music. He had a very outgoing personality and never met a stranger.
