Ms. Geneva Moore was born August 15, 1915 in Newellton, Tensas Parish, Louisiana, the fifth child of Mr. Ezekiel E Moore and Henrietta Needham. Her parents, seeking the best educational possibility for Geneva sent her to Shreveport where she graduated from Central Colored High School. She received a B.S. degree from Southern University Baton Rouge in 1940. After additional study at Prairie View College, she received an M.S. degree from Howard University in 1952. During that year she was initiated into the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Beta Alpha chapter.

Miss Moore taught for 31 years in Caddo Parish, retiring from J.S. Clark Jr. High School in 1972. She was a member of the NAUW and served as secretary of the group and worked with the Teen Group. Her other activities included serving as a member of the Caddo-Bossier Retired Teachers Association, chair of the Hospitality group, a member of the National Council of Negro Women, recording secretary of the Women's Auxiliary of the Lakeside B.C., where she was the secretary and superintendent Emeritus. She was also a volunteer at the Allendale branch of the YWCA for 10 years.

Ms Moore is survived by a plethora of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews and friends across the United States who know her by her missionary fervor via a daily telephone bible study.
