Geneva L. Rowan, aged 88, of Valdosta, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2025, at South Georgia Medical Center after a brief illness. Born on May 9, 1937, in Adel, Georgia, Geneva was the beloved daughter of the late Thurman and Florence Gandy Lovett.
Geneva's true passion was her family. Her steadfast love and devotion was the hallmark of her life. Her faith was her cornerstone, and she was a dedicated member of Morningside Baptist Church.
Geneva was the devoted widow of the late Jackie Rowan. She leaves behind a loving family who will forever treasure her memory: her children, Pam Leonard and her husband Woody of Tifton, and Christal Holton and her husband Jeff of Valdosta; grandchildren Lauren Crawford Veuleman and her husband Rob of Valdosta, Trey Leonard and his wife Karrin of Johns Creek, Courtney Gricius and her husband David of Atlanta, and Kristen Bernal and her husband Steven of Mableton; as well as great-grandchildren Ava and Jack Crawford of Valdosta, Miles Gricius of Atlanta, and Rowan Bernal of Mableton.
A celebration of Geneva’s life will be held on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Reverend Wayne Robertson officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Morningside Baptist Church Building Fund, 425 Connell Road, Valdosta, Georgia 31602.
Carson McLane Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of the Rowan family during this time.
