Geneva Garner Shirley, 71, of Cumming, GA passed away peacefully in her home on

Friday, September 12, 2025. Geneva was born on January 11,1954 in Duluth, GA to the

late Clifford and Claudia Garner. She had 5 brothers and 2 sisters. She married Robert

Shirley on January 21, 1972. Geneva and Robert went on to have 4 children; Jeanette in

1973, Robby in 1974, Vickie in 1976, and Mickey in 1977.

Geneva worked as a EVS Tech at Northside Forsyth Hospital for 25 years. She loved

going to work each day and getting to see her friends and coworkers. She was a hard

worker and enjoyed what she did. She hardly ever missed a day of work. Everyone that

had the pleasure of meeting her always commented on how sweet and kind she was.

Geneva will be remembered as one of the kindest, most caring, selfless, and loving

people, with a big heart. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great

grandmother. She loved being with her family, getting to go on vacation, and little

weekend getaways. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee with anyone that would sit down and

play with her... for hours. In her quiet moments, she found joy in Bible coloring on her

phone, and she was known for being a night owl nearly every night.

Geneva is preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Claudia Garner; husband Robert

Shirley, brothers Tommy Garner and David Garner, and sister Judy Shirley.

Geneva is survived by her children, Jeanette and Billy Nelson, Robby Shirley and Sasha

Bobo, Vickie and Anthony Frachiseur, Mickey and Faith Shirley. Grandchildren Daniel

Brewton, Megan Brewton, Lindon Shirley, Christian Shirley, Maddy Shirley, Delsin Shirley,

Toby Shirley, Aj Frachiseur, Chris Frachiseur, Mikey Shirley, Matthew Shirley, Melody

Reeves, and 22 great grandchildren, Brothers Gene Garner, Jerry Garner, and Tracy

Garner, Sister Betty Bailey and many other family members that knew and loved her. She

will be missed for a lifetime and never forgotten.

"As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you" Isaiah 66:13

The family will receive friends and family for visitation on Monday, September 22, from
