Geneva Smith, 95, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Pine Village in Moundridge. She was born on June 4, 1930 in Fairview, Oklahoma, to Dan and Katie (Nightingale) Smith.
Geneva attended Progressive School in Fairview.
She was a member of the Grant Mennonite Church in Ulysses.
Geneva was united in marriage to Duane Smith on September 12, 1948 in Fairview, Oklahoma. They shared 73 years of marriage together before Duane preceded her in death on June 27, 2022.
She was a devoted homemaker. Geneva was also a certified nurse aide and worked at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Liberal, Kansas. She enjoyed opening her home to family and friends. Geneva loved cooking, baking, and loving on her grandchildren.
Geneva is survived by her sons, Ron (Rosemary) Smith of Wichita, Terrance "Terry" (Jana) Smith of Sedgwick, Loren (Georgia) Smith of Fayetteville, AR, and Eric (Tracie) Smith of Billings, OK; daughter, Rita (Ken) Friesen of Moscow, KS; son-in-law, Ron Nickel of Turpin, OK; 18 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brother, Dan Smith Jr. (Joyce) of Montezuma.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Carolee Nickel; and nine siblings.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 1, 2025 at the Fairview Cemetery, Greensburg, KS. Family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 31, at Pine Village. Memorial contributions may be made to Pine Village in care of Moundridge Funeral Home, PO Box 410, Moundridge, KS 67107.
