Genevieve Louise Dickson, age 83 of Mt.Orab, Ohio passed away Thursday, October 23, 2025 at her residence. Genevieve was born September 4, 1942 in Batavia, Ohio the daughter of the late James Edward and Mildred Leona (Armstrong) Jones. Genevieve enjoyed a fulfilling career as a claims specialist for the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, where her commitment to assisting others ensured that many received the support they needed during challenging times. Her professional contributions had a lasting impact on both her colleagues and the countless individuals she helped throughout her career. As a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Genevieve’s greatest joy was her family. She took immense pride in nurturing the bonds that united them and was always present for important moments throughout their lives. Her warmth and compassion extended beyond her immediate family, also encompassing her role as a sister, sharing countless memories and experiences that will forever be etched in their hearts. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years – John Dickson in 2012 whom she married September 30, 1961 and two step-children – Becky Simpson and Johnnie Dickson.
Mrs. Dickson is survived by two daughters – Betty Jo Dickson and Debbie Kelley and husband Tom all of Mt. Orab, Ohio; five grandchildren – Amber Meeker and husband JC of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Michael Dickson and fiancé Emily of Cincinnati, Ohio, Shelby Mardis and husband Jeff of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Adam Simpson and wife Susie and David Simpson and wife Carla all of Sardinia, Ohio; four great grandchildren – Ellie Mardis, Jayse Meeker, Easton Meeker and Rhett Mardis all of Mt. Orab, Ohio; four brothers – Carl Jones and wife Peggy, Kenny Jones and wife Darlene, Rick Jones and wife Phyllis all of Mt. Orab, Ohio and Dennis Jones and wife Lynn of Williamsburg, Ohio; two sisters – Barbara Thackston and Donna Thompson both of Michigan and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the Cahall Funeral Home in Mt.Orab, Ohio. Earl Stephens will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. – 1:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Mt.Orab Cemetery in Mt.Orab, Ohio.
