Genevieve is preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Royce Thomas, her beloved son Darron Thomas, brothers Emmett Jenkins and Michael Jenkins, parents Leonard and Gladys Galloway Jenkins, nephew Gregory J. Holmes; brothers-in-law Jeral J. Holmes and Sandy Graves. No matter where Genevieve was or who she was with, there was always laughter. Her smile would light up a room and she loved her family with everything she had. Gen was a devoted wife to her husband of 48 years and was always by his side. She enjoyed the trips taken with Royce to the Great Smokey Mountains, Europe, Colorado, Las Vegas…wherever he chose as a destination, she was happy to go. Genevieve was a loving and supportive Mother to her three children, a dedicated grandmother and great-grandmother and a faithful committed sister to all her siblings. She was a faithful Christian and member of the First Baptist Church Covington and a former member of Ben's Ford Baptist Church, an avid reader, enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. She continued her travels with her children, grandchildren, sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law making wonderful memories with all. Genevieve celebrated her 70 birthday in Moab, Utah with her children and was surprised with another memorable trip to Hot Springs, Arkansas for her 83rd birthday. She loved fishing and boating. Her sisters were her best friends and they spent many entertaining hours together as often as they could. Genevieve was famous for her chicken cornbread dressing which was a requirement at every family gathering. To sum up her life, she was a very humble and loving woman…truly our Angel on earth. She will be missed tremendously by all who knew her. Special thanks to Chris for making Mama's last weeks with us as comfortable as possible and to her very special Angel Caregivers Claudette Duncan, Kathy Lee and Angela Moore. Their love, care and devotion to her is unsurpassed and they are truly a blessing to our family. Another special thank you to D'Ette Stelly and the Amedisys Hospice Team for their efforts during her illness.
