Obituary
Genevieve Kufta (nee: Skoczypiec),100, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Peace Care at St. Joseph's, Jersey City. She was born in Elizabeth to Alexandria and Michael Skoczypiec and was a longtime Bayonne resident. Mrs. Kufta was an administrative assistant at the Ukrainian National Association, Jersey City for 38 years prior to retirement.
She was a member of the Rosary Society of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, a member of the Golden Ages and made pierogis at the church's fundraisers.
Mrs. Kufta was predeceased by her beloved husband, Simon; her loving son, Simon Jr. ;and her dear sister, Sophie. She is survived by her loving son, Michael Kufta, and his wife, Claudia; and her cherished grandchildren, Cassandra and Anthony Kufta.
The funeral will be conducted by the Bayonne Memorial Home, Inc. on Thursday October 19, 2023. A funeral liturgy will take place at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Rosehill Cemetery, Linden. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. on Thursday morning.
