GEN Siracusa Obituary

Gen Donofrio Siracusa

AUBURN - Gen Donofrio Siracusa passed peacefully Monday, December 2, 2024, with her family by her side, at the age of 94. Born in Auburn, NY the daughter of very dear parents Angelo and Margaret (Mazzeo) Donofrio, Gen was a graduate of Auburn Central High School. She attended Kent Business School and was a graduate of Syracuse Barber and Beauty School. Gen was employed by the Auburn Board of Education as a secretary and Health Aid for 10 years. She resigned from the Auburn Schools to join her husband Joseph in operating Siracusa's Beef House and Wine Cellar Restaurant. Gen was a hostess, and also decorated the restaurant beautifully for every holiday. She also helped bake the delicious pies and cake cakes all "from scratch".

Gen is survived by her loving children daughter, Deborah Guzalak; and two sons, David (Cindy) and Alan (Dr. Angelie Roman) Siracusa; four grandsons, Brian and Mark Guzalak and Dr. Zachary and Connor Siracusa, who were the absolute love of her life; her beloved brother, Dick Donofrio; and great-grandchildren, Logan, Gracie and Christian.

In addition to her parents, Gen is predeceased by her dear and loving husband, Joseph; and many loving siblings.

Family and friends were very important to her and were always welcome into her home and her parents home on 90 Van Anden St., where they would gather to sing, harmonize and indulge in the amazing homemade food and desserts almost every Friday night.

Her last request was to sincerely thank her outstanding Doctors: Dr Bennett, Dr. Conolly and Dr. Nolan for their great care and attention.

Lastly, Gen wanted to mention very special friends Marianne Burnett, Julie Clair and the late Ted and Matt Cheche for their special care given to the Donofrio and Mazzeo families.

Friends are invited to join the family for a Mass of Christian burial to be offered Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 1 p.m., in St. Alphonsus Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be conducted prior to mass at the church from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

Arrangements are with White Chapel Funeral Home Inc., 197 South St., Auburn.
