Genevieve "Gennie" Snyder, born on July 6, 1932, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, after a lengthy illness. Her life was defined by love, humor, and an unshakable spirit that brightened the lives of all who knew her.

Gennie and her beloved husband, Forrest Richard Snyder-whom she married in 1951-shared a deep and enduring love. Together, they raised four children who were the heart of their lives: Glenn (Brenda), Kenneth (Cathy), Daniel (Eileen), and Sharon (Jeff).

She took immense pride in her family, who brought her endless joy and laughter. Gennie loved spending time with her grandchildren-Shelby (Padraic), Chris (Victoria), Brandon (Maggie), Matthew, Danielle (Teddy), Alicia (James), Kristyn, and Tori-and delighted in watching them grow and build families of their own. She was especially proud to know and share time with each of her great-grandchildren: Claire, Emily, Elias, Ada, Willa, Tess, Penny, Josie, Juliana, Jordan, Anya, and Vera. Family gatherings filled her heart; she never missed a chance to celebrate, share a story, or simply enjoy being surrounded by the people she loved most.

She is also survived by her brother-in-law Richard Snyder (Nancy), sister-in-law Anita Snyder, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Forrest, her grandson Andrew, sister-in-law Carol Hessler (Bernard), and brother-in-law Robert Snyder.

Gennie was a woman of many passions and quiet talents. She loved playing cards and was known for her competitive streak-complete with a mischievous bluff and playful smack talk, even with her great-grandkids. A lifelong reader, she devoured mystery novels but refused to touch a "lovie," as she called romances. She was also a skilled crafter, creating intricate cross-stitch pieces that her family will always treasure.

Her love of the outdoors ran deep. Summers were often spent on the water aboard the Gennie S, where she and Forrest fished for flounder, laughed with family, and soaked in the salt air and sunshine. Those long days of boating and evenings sharing the day's catch remain among her family's most cherished memories. At home, she found peace tending her rose bushes and tomatoes.

In her later years, Gennie found comfort and companionship in her rescue dog, Bessie. The two were inseparable, keeping each other company through quiet afternoons and daily routines filled with gentle affection and loyalty.

Gennie's kindness, wit, and warmth touched everyone she met. She faced life's challenges with grace and humor, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and resilience. She will be remembered always as a loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, great grand-mother and dear friend.
