Andy was a 1956 graduate of Conrad High School. He proudly served with the Air National Guard and later worked for Verizon from 1956 until his retirement in 1999.
He was a member of the Oxford Gun Club and the Atglen Gun Club. Andy had many passions-he coached baseball for all five of his sons, was an avid hunter and bowler, enjoyed shotgun sports, and loved watching sports of all kinds.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frank P. and Ruth (Steele) Womer, and his first wife, Mary, who passed in 1974.
Andy is survived by his wife, Sondra Womer; his sons, Steve (Kim), Dave (Karen), Joe (Shirley), Patrick (Julie), and Jeff; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Andy's name.
