James Womer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lighthouse Family Mortuary - Greeley on Sep. 23, 2025.

James Womer, 51, of Greeley, Colorado, was surrounded by his loving wife & children when he passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, from his home in Greeley. He was born on September 24, 1973, in Tacoma, Washington to Samuel & Judith (Dodgion) Womer. On September 17, 1994, in Tempe, Arizona, James married the true love of his life, although he would say the 'Daisy to his Donald', Corin (Buxman) Womer.

James lived his life for faith, family and fun. He was raised in Arizona with a strong foundation in his faith from a very young age, that faith never wavered, even up to his last moments on earth. He continued that legacy passing on the foundation to his children and granddaughters and many other youth.

James, spent his time caring for his family. "Putzing" as we called it and never sitting down; looking for the next task that he can complete. He never wanted the attention. He was always quietly observing to see where he could help. Whether that was cooking for his family, cleaning and laundry, playing with his babies, school field trips and being the classroom Dad or coaching his daughter's volleyball team, he was there. His most favorite task after being a dad was being a Papaw to his granddaughters. He played with them and was the best patient at their doctors office or client at the beauty parlor. He gave daily outfit checks before the girls went to school. He said they gave him a second chance at parenthood.

James love Disney, Christmas and spending time with his loved ones enjoying life. Popcorn and meeting Piglet with Savannah even after he told her that neither existed in Disney, big thunder while the fireworks were shooting off with Delaney and riding Megan's first Disneyland ride on Peter Pan and buying her a Mickey chocolate ice cream bar; dinner and coffee dates and movies, especially Marvel and Star Wars with Robert. He has always had time to build Legos and trains with Natalie or cook Julia her favorite food, her mashed potatoes. And Oh his passion for ASU and Arizona Cardinals football and the Phoenix Suns games. He started off being the loudest one and now we all out shout him during the games, even his little ones.

Most of all James loved. He loved his wife, Corin, and his kids with unconditional patience, fiercely yet with gentleness. If you knew and were loved by James, there's nothing he would not give for you.

James is survived by his loving wife, Corin Womer; daughter, Savannah Lyn; & granddaughter Megan Nala-Anne; son, Robert Samuel James; & granddaughters, Natalie Isabelle and Julia Judith; and daughter, Delaney Jo; siblings, Scott Womer, Samantha Womer, and Steven (Lindsey) Womer; his father, Samuel Womer; and step-mother, Cheryl Womer; in-laws, Rob & Kathy Lewis; and a large loving extended family.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Judith Womer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Church of the Nazarene, 2515 W. 16th Street, Greeley on Friday, September 26, 2025 at 1:00pm. At the request of James and the family, please wear bright and cheerful colors.
