George Allen Addy, age 87, of Ellijay, GA, passed away on November 27, 2024. He was born May 28, 1937, in Clinton, SC, to his late parents, Will Allen Addy and Beatrice Ellen Campbell. George graduated from Lakeland High School in 1955 and Florida Southern College in 1959. He also served as a Staff sergeant in the US Army Reserve and made a career as an Accounting Executive at Superior Paving Inc.
Survivors include Jeanne Gallman Addy, wife of 65 years, of Ellijay, GA; daughter and son-in-law Marci and Josh Farley of Murfreesboro, TN; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Marianne Addy of Mandeville, LA; and grandchildren Price Addy, Allison Addy, Chase Steele, Cade Steele, Melissa Burdette, and Jennifer Evans.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Way Baptist Church, with Dr. Eddie Martin officiating and Rev. James Holt leading prayer. Visitation will be held the same day at the church from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Price Addy, Chase Steele, Cade Steele, Michael Bennett, Bill Logan, and Brian Hall will be pallbearers, and Steve Farist and Bill Huff will be honorary pallbearers.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, December 9th, at 2:00 p.m., at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lakeland, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calvary Way Baptist Church in his memory.
