George Agan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heartland Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Early on Mar. 4, 2025.
George Edward Agan, age 78, of Brownwood entered into eternal rest March 2, 2025. The family will hold a memorial service at 10AM, Friday March 7th at Heartland Funeral Home. A Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
George was born July 15, 1946 to Doyle Aster Agan and Lela Pauline "Polly" Agan. He attended Early schools where he met the love of his life Shirley Minica. He almost missed the girl until his friends told him he better come out of the woods. He came out of the woods. George and Shirley married April 11, 1968 and a year later had their son Shane. George served in the Army National Guard for 6yrs as a Scout. Which is pretty funny considering he had a unique ability to get turned completely around and lost anywhere he went. George worked for Superior Cable but left to spend time with Shirley after her diagnosis with MS and to pursue other adventures. He worked construction, sold life insurance before going into what he truly loved, Landscape Design. He loved designing and seeing his vision come to life. In his spare time when he was younger, he was an artist, doing stone and bronze sculptures. He did several commissioned pieces. He also was an entrepreneur at heart, where he patented a couple of his products. One of which was a workout program that he even had an Infomercial for. Up into his 70's he could still do 1500 incline pushups and thousands of crunches.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Shirley; his son, Shane and wife Janet Agan; granddaughter, Ashleigh Agan; grandson Dylan and wife Amanda Agan; great granddaughters Caeslyn, Ellawyn and Brenlyn; nieces, Lisa Hood and Kristy Jones; nephew, Greg Laird and wife Lisa; Goddaughter Krystal Dollery along with numerous great nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle and Lela Pauline Agan, and one sister Rita Laird.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Greenleaf Cemetery in his name.
