George Christopher Alexander, was born on Monday, November 22, 1943, in Connellsville, Pennsylvania to the late Ernest and Dorothy (Branch) Alexander.
George received his formal education in the Jefferson-Morgan School District in Jefferson, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Jefferson-Morgan High School. George served four years in the United States Army, receiving an Honorable Discharge. He later worked at Hershey Foods 30 years from where he retired.
On March 29, 1970, George married his devoted wife, Betty Mae Alexander in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. George was a good family man as well as a hard worker. In his leisure time, George loved to be around family, especially his great grandchildren. He was known as a die- hard Green Bay Packer’s fan. George also loved to attend and watch the Harrisburg High School Football games.
George served as a faithful deacon at Faith Chapel Church of God In Christ for over 30 years. He later joined Lingo Memorial Church of God in Christ in 2011 under the leadership of the late Benjamin J. Ravenel, Sr also serving as a faithful deacon.
On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 79 years of age, George exchanged mortality for immortality; joining in external life his parents and his two brothers, Dennis J. Alexander (Tree) and Richard Ernest Alexander (Smokey). He leaves to celebrate his life and cherish precious memories of him, his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Betty Mae Alexander; his daughter Wanda Chase-Bellamy; his son-in-law, Robert Bellamy; three grandchildren, Shawn Chase, Jamar Chase, and Devin Bullock (formerly known as “Mister”); nine great grandchildren; his sister Jacqueline Meadows; three sisters-in-law, Sara Talton, Shirley B. Alexander, and Wallet Alexander; two brothers-in-law, Richard (Butch) Chase and Robert Meadows; his best friend, Andy London; two God children; several nieces, nephews, cousins , and other extended family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at
