George Stephen Barnett

George Stephen Barnett, age 81, of Rockwall, TX, passed away December 10, 2025. He was born on November 7, 1944, in Big Spring, Texas to Eddie Ray Barnett Sr. and Roberta Ellen (Patton). He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

George met the love of his life, Barbara McCall, and they were married on September 17, 1976. They spent forty-nine wonderful years together.

He was a man of God and a longtime resident of Rockwall Missionary Baptist Church. For his career he worked for the City of Rockwall. His interests included black-powdered guns, knives, collecting stamps, and coins. George also repaired bicycles and donated them to local children.

George is survived by his loving wife: Barbara Barnett; son: George Barnett Jr.; grandchildren: Micah Barnett, Caleb Wright, and April Wright; great-grandchildren: Silis Martinez, Vera Fay Wright, Eva Rose Wright; and sister: Ina Barnett. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter: Stephenie Barnett; brother: Eddie Barnett Jr.; and sister: Ila Barnett.

Funeral services will be held 10:00am on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Rest Haven Funeral Home - Rockwall, Texas. Interment will follow the service at Rest haven Memorial Park. A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service from 9:00am to 10:00am at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall, Texas.
