George "Bob" Burch, age 69, of Brenham passed away September 19, 2024.
George Robert Burch, otherwise known as "Bob" was born on December 6, 1954 to Bess and Cecil Burch in Brenham, Texas. Bob grew up and graduated from Brenham, where he participated in many activities, including 4H and Boy Scouts which he was very proud of and often told the same stories about his childhood memories. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Brenham. He loved his family but was a "mommas boy".
Bob grew up loving the outdoors and everything about it. He could never get enough. He loved hunting, fishing, roping, wood working and working with leather. He loved collecting knives and guns; each having meaning and a story behind them. He loved riding his motorcycle and cherished the open road and bike rides he had taken with friends and his son Jonathan. He was very proud of his time volunteering and participating in the Annual Toy run with the Lake Loons. He was a storyteller and loved to tell them to anyone who would listen. He loved reading, especially books about history.
Bob loved hanging out with his friends and sitting on the front porch waving to everyone passing by. Bob also loved his dog Missy, who he took on walks and enjoyed taking to the lake. He was the loudest person in the room. He never met a stranger and made friends everywhere he went. Bob was the guy who would give you the shirt off his back.
Bob is preceded in death by parents Cecil and Bess Burch; grandparents; George and Lydia Burch, George and Bess Habekotte; aunts Ruth Burch, Dorothy Schroeder; and uncle George Burch.
Left to cherish Bobs memories are son Jonathan and wife Megan; grandchildren Claire and Emma Jackson; daughter Lindsey Mueller and husband Robert Mueller; Grandchildren Dacey Mueller, Blaine Mueller, Tristen Mueller, Cullen Mueller, and Colton Mueller; sister Bonnie Dougherty and husband Kelly Dougherty; nieces Kate Dominguez, Erin Dougherty (husband Ray Mitchel), Bridget Melton (husband Byron Melton), Meaghan Flores (husband Darwin Flores), and Cara Dougherty; great-nieces Emily Dominguez, Anika Mitchel, Cecilia Mitchel, Rose Mitchell, Valentine Melton, Elinor Melton, Lily Flores, Audrey Flores; great-nephew Sam Mitchel; sister Nancy Krueger and husband Kenny Krueger; Nephew Taylor Rybarski and wife Kelsey Rybarski; great nieces; Adonie Rybarski and Everly Rybarski; cousin Rod Reichardt and Wife Janet Reichardt and children Madeleine Reichardt and Carter Reichardt and many lifelong friends; and his dog Missy.
Visitation with family present will be Friday, September 27, 2024 from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Brenham Memorial Chapel.
A Celebration of Life for Bob will be held Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 10:00AM at Brenham Memorial Chapel with celebrant PJ Ellison officiating.
Everyone is welcome to a gathering with family and friends at The Elks Lodge immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be donated to his favorite charity Toy Run, which is entrusted to the Lake Loon Inc. Donations can be mailed to 5779 Redbud Drive, Bryan, Texas 77807 or made at Citizens State Bank.
