George M. Cain

On September 23, 2025, George Manus Cain, age 77 passed away at home surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Philadelphia, George was a graduate of both LaSalle High School and LaSalle University. He then went on to serve his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, George worked as bank manager for Beneficial Savings where he met his wife, Kathleen and later worked as a claims adjuster for CIGNA and Sedgwick Claims Management. George was a member of the Murray-Troutt American Legion Post 262 in Audubon, where he served as chaplain as well as the Knights of Columbus Santa Maria Council No. 1443 in Haddon Township. George was also a devoted parishioner of St. Vincent Pallotti Church (St. Joseph the Worker Parish) in Haddon Township where he served as a eucharistic minister. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Phillies, as a season ticket holder for decades.
George was predeceased by his parents, George C. Cain and Ann McFadden Cain. He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Kathleen (nee Callahan); his loving children, Donovan (Elizabeth), Brendan (Elizabeth) and Ellen (Phil) Welcome; his cherished grandchildren, Vivia, Sheamar and Aurora Welcome, Landon Cain and Nolan George Cain as well as his dear sister, Rosanne Cain.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Sunday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the Healey Funeral Home, 9 White Horse Pike, Haddon Heights. There will be a viewing again Monday morning from 10:00 - 10:45 AM at St. Vincent Pallotti Church (St. Joseph the Worker Parish), 901 Hopkins Road, Haddon Township where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment following at Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill. (In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Murray-Troutt American Legion Post 262, 20 Chestnut Street, Audubon, NJ 08106.
