George Chiftis

George Chiftis passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, at the age of 88. George was born in Seattle, Washington on June 8, 1937. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Ester, his brother Chet, his sisters Sophie and Ida and his beloved wife Isa.

George and Isa were high school sweethearts. After marrying in 1958 they spent the next 60 plus years as the best of partners - parenting their three daughters, raising dogs, cats and horses. After a long career working for the Brower Company, George, with Isa's help, started a successful insulation company.

After several years, George and Isa decided it was time to do something else. They sold their interest in the business and moved to Ellensburg. George's "second act" began there when he began restoring antique pool tables. This became and was his passion until he passed away - even when Isa would ask "do you really need another table?"

He is survived by his three daughters - Kim, Gail and Teresa, and his sons in law, Jerry, and Danny. He also leaves behind four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

George was a wonderful husband, father, and friend. He made friends throughout the United States - many calling him in his last days to say goodbye. He was well respected and was known as being honest and a straight shooter. In his final days he reflected on his life - consistently saying that he had a good life, and he was very grateful. In many ways, George was larger than life.

A celebration will be held on March 7th between 1 and 4 at The McIntosh Ranch, 7820 US-97 N, Ellensburg.
