George Christian, Jr., aged 76, of Velma, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, in Duncan. Arrangements are entrusted to Alexander Gray Velma Chapel and Crematory.
Born to the late George Alexander Christian and Dorothy Mae (Kerbo) Christian, George was raised in Healdton, where he earned the affectionate nickname "Walking George." Known for his love of walking, he often traversed the routes between Healdton, Velma, and Duncan. George had a remarkable ability to connect with others and never met a stranger, often engaging in friendly conversations. He also took great pleasure in cleaning.
George is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, including Mary King, Henry Christian, and Nancy Smith.
He is survived by his sister, Shirley Lamb and husband Billy Dickerson; his brother, Samuel "Sammy" Christian and wife Michelle; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
