George William Coffman II, 74, of Hudson, FL, went home to be with the Lord, on the afternoon of June 3rd, 2025. George proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and continued his service for several more years in the Army Reserves.
He was born in Steubenville, OH to the late William Daryl and Martha Ann (Willson) Coffman on August 2, 1950. He was the first of five children. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Martha Jeanette (Hood) Coffman. Joining Martha in missing George is one son, Justin (Richele) Coffman of Apollo, PA, and three sons in love, Ed (Barb) Leanza of Spring Hill, FL; Joe (Kelly) Leanza of Cincinnati, OH and Jon (Shannon) Leanza of Cincinnati, OH along with nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, David (Joyce) Coffman of Myrtle Beach, SC and Ralph Coffman of Milton, FL. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jane Anne (Bill) and Faye Ellen (Ray).
George was a 1968 graduate of Toronto High School. He last worked at W.H. Samis Plant in Stratton, OH from which he retired as an operations supervisor/mechanical engineer. George enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He also enjoyed being a part of many Bible studies and leading his friends in a Men's Bible Study and coffee each week. He loved working with the young people, especially the teens.
George led an interesting and well-accomplished life. He was an avid motorcyclist, had a master's degree in theology, was a licensed airplane and helicopter pilot, a licensed locomotive engineer, a deep-water scuba diving instructor, and a talented woodworking artist.
He currently was a member of Spring Hill Calvary Church of the Nazarene where he served faithfully in several roles. Previously George served as pastor of Grandview Christian Church in Powhatan Point, OH before retiring to Florida.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 12:00 noon at the Spring Hill Calvary Church of the Nazarene; 235 Cobblestone Drive, Spring Hill, FL with Pastors Ed and Barb Leanza officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of George Coffman to Spring Hill Calvary Church of the Nazarene.
