George Angelo Cotugno, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away suddenly on August 26, 2024, at the age of 66. Born on September 1, 1957, George was a lifelong resident of East Greenbush.
George is predeceased by his parents, Mary and George Cotugno, which he loved dearly. He is survived by his loving children, Edward (Jennifer) Cotugno, Ericka (Trina) Battistoni, and Shawn Cotugno, their mother, Cindy Cotugno, and his cherished grandsons, Lincoln and Madden Battistoni. He is mourned by his siblings, Angela Cotugno, Georgiana Lord, Joseph Cotugno, and Dominick Cotugno, and many nieces, nephews. He is also lovingly remembered by his significant other, Sharon Trendell. He will be dearly missed by his large circle of close friends and family.
Throughout his life, George made many friends working for R.J. Valente Gravel Inc., Amtrak, Town of East Greenbush, and Cargill.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and Corvette, boating, fishing with his son, and watching his grandsons grow. He had a wild, free spirit. George will be remembered for his infectious laugh, his kind heart, and the love he so generously gave to those around him.
A memorial service will be held at W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home on Friday, August 30, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to visit with George's family prior to the service from 4-7p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Broadview savings accounts for his beloved grandsons, Lincoln Battistoni and Madden Battistoni.
