George David Cropp, 68, passed away on October 1, 2025, in Largo, Florida, with his wife, Donna, by his side.

Born in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, he grew up in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. There he played sports and the trumpet in the marching band-first as a Mt. Sterling Trojan and later at the University of Kentucky. Singing "My Girl" with his childhood band and working with thoroughbreds on the farm were among his cherished memories of youth.

George found joy in the outdoors, whether hiking or fishing. He was known for his gentle temperament-his siblings often remarked how difficult he was to anger. This quiet kindness defined his life. In both his career in finance and his years singing in the church choir, his warmth was unmistakable.

The deepening of his faith in God became a legacy of gentle courage, bringing strength and hope to those he touched. Renewed by baptism at Indian Rocks Baptist Church, his faith remained steadfast until the end.

His forty-six years of marriage to Donna were marked by devotion and service. Their partnership was a portrait of selfless love, admired by family and friends alike. George carried this spirit into every relationship, sharing joy and comfort with all who knew him.

This spirit endures in the songs he sang to his grandchildren-"This Little Light of Mine"-and in the voice of his granddaughter singing "Angel Band" at his final hour. It also lives on in the pride he felt watching his daughter grow into a devoted wife and mother.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Helen Cropp. He is survived by his wife, Donna Cropp; his children, Casey (Kristin) Cropp and Caroline (Matthew) McCormick; his grandchildren, Adleigh Cropp, Beau McCormick, and Kennedy Cropp; his brother, Chris (Agnes) Cropp; and his sisters, Sandy (Jack) Moore and Linda Cropp. along with many nieces and nephews.

A service will be held in Lexington, Kentucky. Details will be announced by the family.

To those who crossed his path, a connection remains, carried by the values of love, faith, and kindness.

I am thankful for all the times we spent together enjoying family times at Grammy Howe's. With or without indoor plumbing, we were all happy back then. I'll cherish these memories forever. Rest in peace my dear cousin. I'll always love you.
