George Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Boucher Funeral Home on Mar. 8, 2026.
Harrisville-George Vance Davis, 79, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Hope Hospice Hulitar Center, Providence. He was the loving husband of Denise (Lapierre) Davis. Born in E. Cleveland, OH, he was the son of the late Charles V. and Margaret (O'Bryan) Davis.

Besides his wife Denise, he leaves his children; Shawn P. Daly of Dallas, TX, Brigitte A. Flanagan of Phoenix, AZ, sisters; Martha Campbell, Barbara Carnahan and eleven grandchildren. George was predeceased in death by five sisters.

George's life was defined by a quiet strength and a heart that found joy in the service of others. A gentleman with a steady hand and a kind mind.

His journey of service started in the United States Navy, Seabees', where he proudly served his country. His discipline and dedication continued throughout his life, making him a man of integrity and unwavering liability. Once leaving the military, he transitioned into an automotive mechanic due to his love of classic cars. An engine was not just a machine, but a puzzle to be solved. He was the person neighbors and friends turned to when stuck, knowing he would never turn away someone in need of a helping hand.

At home, his greatest masterpiece was the life he built with his beloved wife, Denise. There was a partnership rooted in deep enduring love and a mutual respect. Together they raised four children to whom he was a constant source of wisdom and a gentle guidance. He did not just provide for his family, he showed up for them every day, teaching his children the value of hard work, the importance of kindness, and satisfaction of a job well done.

When he was not under the hood of a car, George could often be found in his workshop. Woodworking was one of his true passions; a place where his problem-solving nature met his artistic spirit.

He leaves behind a legacy of "Fixing things" not just cars, and cabinets, but people spirits and situations. He was a patient man who listened more than he spoke, loved more than he asked for in return, and left the world a lot more loved than he found it.
