George S. Essenwine

Commander George S. Essenwine USN (Ret.), 93, of Palm City, died September 6, 2008 at the Treasure Coast Hospice, Stuart. Born in West Burlington, Pennsylvania, he had been a resident of Palm City for 11 years coming from Beavercreek, Ohio. He retired from the US Navy after 30 years of service where he was an electrical and aeronautical engineer with naval aircraft procurement. Tours of duty included Washington DC and other assignments throughout the United States. He was a 32� Mason and an avid ham radio operator. Survivors include a daughter Rosemary Wittrock and her husband Charles of Gainesville, Virginia; a son John S. Essenwine II and his wife Barbara of Palm City; 2 grandchildren Kristin Liggins and her husband Nicholas of Gainesville, VA and John S, Essenwine III and his fianc� Lynette Botelle pf Palm City and 1 great grandchild, Austin Liggins.. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Gager Essenwine. SERVICE: A nicheside service with military honors, provided by the US Navy, will be conducted at 10:00 AM on September 12, 2008 at Forest Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum, Palm City.
