George Austin Fitzpatrick, age 91, of Venice, Florida passed away peacefully with family at his side on Thursday 1/1/26 after a long courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.

Born in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada to Austin and Rita Fitzpatrick, George earned his Bachelor's degree in Accounting and was a certified chartered accountant. He spent over 45 years in business manufacturing. Positions held during his career included general manager and chief financial officer. Those positions afforded him the opportunity to travel the world.

George moved with his wife and children to the United States in 1972 settling in Sandusky, Ohio. Return visits to Canada were frequent for treasured time together and holiday celebrations with extended family. He enjoyed many sports with golf being his favorite. He was a member of the Catholic Church and his faith guided him through his health challenges. George will be remembered for his love of family, his personable nature, his sense of humor and quick wit.

George is survived by his wife of 65 years, Willa; his children, Philip ( Diane), Michelle, Maureen (Keith), Stephen (Carrie); his grandchildren, Ryan (Ann Marie), Ian (Jessica), Zachary, Matthew, Emma, Tracie and Aidan; his great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Thomas, and Zachary along with nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Cumming, his brother, John Fitzpatrick and his granddaughter, Jillian Noel Fitzpatrick.

The family wishes to thank the Goldton at Venice, HarborChase of Sarasota and Hawthorne Center for Rehab for their care of George.

A special thank you to Jeanine Gebert and Karen Boles for their kindness, encouragement, companionship and dedication to George's care. We are forever grateful.

A celebration of George's life will be held at a later date. Donations in George's memory can be made to The Parkinson's Foundation or The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.

We close with one of George's favorite sayings TTFN, (Ta ta for now), until we see you again!
