George David Garner II passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence. He was 49 years old.
George was born in Laurinburg, NC on March 4, 1975, to George David, Sr. and Carrie Garner. He attended McColl Church of God, where he sat on the Youth Board as a Youth Coordinator. He helped with the Youth, Seniors, and with church fundraisers. He couldn't start his day without having his "pink drink" from Starbucks. He served as the Mayor of McColl, where he loved helping his community. He truly loved his family, church family, and his town.
He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory; parents, George David Garner, Sr. and Carrie Garner; wife, April Barfield Garner; sons, David Evege Garner (Amber) and Dalton Evan Garner; daughter, Danielle Sweat (Justin); grandchildren, Brealyn and Jaxen; sisters, Georgette Chavis (Chesley) and Julia Garner; special aunts, Kay Branch and Deliah Grooms; special niece, Brittany Goins; work wife; Tameka McLain.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kailey Marie Garner "Moon Pie".
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at McColl Church of God, officiated by Rev. Donald Deal, with burial at Rogers Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Monday, December 2, 2024, at McColl Church of God.
