George Ralph Gorritz age, 88 of Bolivia, NC and formerly of McCall, Idaho, died Monday September 4, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on April 2, 1929 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico the son of the late Pedro Gorritz and Dolores Rivera Ramos also preceded in death by his favorite pet, Baron.

Mr. Gorritz was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Army with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and attended St. Brendan Catholic Church in Shallotte. He had a passion for orphan children and was instrumental in forming an orphanage while serving in the Army.

Surviving are a son, Kurt Patrick Gorritz and wife Corinna Gorritz of Bolivia; a daughter, Kelly Michelle Gorritz of Boise, Idaho; six grandchildren, Samantha, Mya, Finn, Kyanne, Niles and Jayda.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held 10 AM Wednesday September 6, 2017 at St. Brendan Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to: ST. Jude's' Children's Hospital
