George Joseph Grego of Michigan, passed away at his home in Ocean Springs, Mississippi on Monday, February 16, 2026 at the age of 65.
George was born on January 8, 1961 in Detroit, Michigan to George and Antoinette (Sicilia) Grego. He graduated from Michigan State University and was a longtime owner and manager of Como's Italian Restaurant in Ferndale, Michigan. He was a phenomenal cook who showed his affection and generosity by feeding anyone lucky enough to be at his table. He loved to travel and experience the finer things in life. He was an avid football follower and was always in pursuit of a good laugh. He was someone who did anything he set his mind to and to that end was a most dedicated and loving friend, father, and husband.
George is preceded in death by his mother, Sicilia; father, George; and sister, Madonna Calbone.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mary Grego; their four children, Antoinette Bell (Jordan), Gabrielle, George Jr., and Mary; and granddaughter, Andromeda.
A memorial mass will take place Friday, April 24th, at 10:00 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 22412 Overlake St, St Clair Shores, MI. Reception to follow at 11:00 AM at Barrister Gardens 24225 Harper Ave, St Clair Shores, MI.
