George M. Harr Jr.

1954 - 2026

George M. "Bud" Harr, Jr., 71, of Unity Township, passed away Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family. Born Sept. 17, 1954, in Latrobe, he was the son of the late George M. Harr Sr. and Clara M. (Pavlovcak) Harr. Bud was a member of St. Vincent Basilica Parish, Latrobe. He earned a bachelor's degree in financial administration from St. Vincent College. For over 40 years, he was the owner-operator of Sierra Construction and a superintendent on numerous commercial construction projects throughout the greater Pittsburgh area. Bud enjoyed playing baseball in his younger years, and later he shared that passion with his children, coaching their softball and baseball teams. Some of his favorite hobbies included woodworking, hunting and fishing, playing guitar, and restoring cars. However, his most cherished hours were times spent with his family. Bud is survived by his wife of 47 years, Vicki A. (Stump) Harr of Unity Township; one son, Michael Harr (Shealyn Forshee) of Baltimore, MD; one daughter, Lisa (Harr) Benini of St. Marys; two grandchildren, Harrison and Macsen Benini; one brother, Frederick Harr, and his wife, Frances, of Derry; one sister, Patricia Gorney of Palm Desert, CA; a brother-in-law, William Stump of Irwin; and a niece and nephews. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Hillman Cancer Center, especially Dr. Janie Zhang, Cleveland Clinic, and Bridges Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. At Bud's request, there will be no public visitations or services. Private entombment will be at St. Clair Cemetery, Greensburg. Arrangements are being handled by LOPATICH-BRINKER FUNERAL HOME LLC, 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hillman Cancer Center or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN).
