Mr. George S. Haymans (Steve), age 77, died on Thursday, June 2nd 2022 at his home under the care of Kindred Hospice. George was born on December 22nd 1944 in Savannah, GA to the late Mr. William Henry Haymans Sr. and Mrs. Ella Lee McElveen Haymans. He was raised in Savannah, GA and worked for 49 years in the HVAC industry, most of that time with Weather Doctors. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, camping, and also woodworking. George was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William Henry Haymans Jr., his sister, Doris Helpingstine, as well as a niece and a nephew.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann Haymans, his three daughters and sons-in-law, Dedee and Keith Steele, Rebecca and Robert Johns, and Stephanie and James "Goober" Bowen, his six grandchildren, Megan, Morgan and her husband Nathan Luft, JT, Maverick, Caleb, and Cody, one great-grandchild, Deanna Luft, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors on Friday from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
Graveside services and burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00am at Corinth-Leefield Cemetery in Brooklet with Bro. Wayne Pollard officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Stephanie Bowen, Cody Bowen and Dana Williams.
The family requests that any memorial contributions be made to Kindred Hospice, 3350 Riverwood Parkway SE, Suite 1400 Atlanta, GA 30339, or to Christian Social Ministries, 31 N. Zetterower Ave. Statesboro, Georgia 30458.
