SANFORD — George Sanford Honeycutt, 80, of Sanford passed away on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2025. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 4, at First Baptist Church at 3 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30-2:45 p.m. before the service.
George was the son of the late George Gline Honeycutt and Ruby Pope Honeycutt. He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran and received a Purple Heart for his acts during his service. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Roland Palmer SS Class and the VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda T. Honeycutt; son, Chris Honeycutt and wife Marshelle; daughter, Jennifer Honeycutt Price and husband Jason; granddaughters, Kayla Gonzalez and husband Jose and Gillian Walter.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to First Baptist Church, 202 Summit Drive, Sanford, NC 27330.
