George Christopher Huth passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on June 4, 2024.
He was born in San Francisco, California on December 4, 1932 where he resided until he turned 18 and joined the United States Navy.
During the Korean Conflict he served aboard the battleship USS Iowa. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, he married the love of his life, Louise. They began their married life after driving across the country from Portsmouth, Virginia to San Francisco, California. Six months later they bought their forever home in Redwood City, California where they raised their family and resided until George's passing.
George's career spanned 50 years as a Sausage Maker, first at Dubuque Packing Company and later at Columbus Salami, both located in South San Francisco, CA. However, his long career paled in comparison to the devotion and love he gave to his family.
He was an honorable man who was respected and loved by all who knew him.
George is survived by his wife of 69 years, Louise, and his three children, Roxie Edwards, Pamela Meyer and Christopher Huth. He also leaves behind a brother, Robert Huth, two sons-in-law, three granddaughters, two great-granddaughters, and two half-sisters.
A family service at Olivet Cypress Lawn in Colma, 1601 Hillside BLVD, CA will be held on June 21,2024 at 11 am.

Uncle George is truly one of the greats! Getting to spend time with him on his visits to VA and NY, it always felt we lived down the street and just picked up from where we had left off though it may have been years. He taught me at a young age on how to make the proper sandwich...where to put the mayo, cheese, etc...to get the best flavor, which is still a life skill I use today. Hugs and Love to all my family in Cali, miss you all!

I loved George´s weekly morning visits at Roxie and Garen´s house. Lattes and a George visit were the best way to start a day. With my grandfathers all passed, George was the ultimate grandfather. His laughter and jokes and kind soul will be missed but not forgotten.
