George Jack Adam Edwards Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 10, 2025.
On September 26, 2025, our beloved George Adam Edwards, passed from his Earthly mission due to natural causes. George was born August 28, 1940 to Lacy Lee and Bertha Salome Brown Edwards in Lynchberg, Virginia. Growing up in Roanoke until at age 17 when he joined the ranks of USA Navy, traveling the entire world, all seven continents, Antarctica and the Arctic, including Russia when it was the U.S.S.R.!
George retired after 30 years of service. He loved the oceans and traveled every one, whether on a ship, Air Craft Carrier, Ice Breaker, Submarine, Tug boat, or Swift Boat in Vietnam! He loved traveling on the water! He knew and fulfilled his duty, going the extra mile to help others. He was a highly intelligent and quick witted man, he spoke multi languages, I believe his favorite was sarcasm! He had us laughing at his stories, his jokes, his complements, and yes, even his sarcasms!
He married Caroline Iverson in 1991, later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, he enjoyed the years of temple work, and loved serving in any calling of responsibility he held.
George loved teaching at all levels and enjoyed his job locally at Lowe's as a Tool Specialist, teaching which tool to use and how to use them effectively. Always told me there are no stores to run to on a ship! Have to make your own tool to fit.
George was a friend to all of us whether as a husband, father, Grandfather, or great Grandfather; You knew where you stood with George, and if he counted you as a friend he treasured you and looked forward to seeing you, He Had Your Back!
George is survived by his wife of 34 years, three daughters, 19 grandchildren, and 36 Great grandchildren. Two brothers and one sister. Preceded in death by his parents and his older sister.
Funeral services will be November 8th at 11am in the Geneva 20th Ward Church, 590 N 900 W Orem, Utah. All are invited to celebrate his life and legacy for all of us!
We are proud of our Veteran!
