George Kenneth “Ken” Jones, 79, of Browns Summit, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Annie Penn Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, March 14, 2022 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the home of Kurt and Beth Hodges, 2305 Pine Lane, Reidsville.
Ken was born in Rockingham County to the late James S. Jones and Eva Sizemore Martin. He was a graduate of Wentworth High School. After serving his country in the US Navy, he went to work at Southern Bell, a job he kept until retirement. He was a member of the Oldsmobile Club of America and enjoyed the swap meet at Charlotte each year. He loved fishing, hunting, working crossword puzzles and watching Jeopardy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Jones; granddaughter, Sally Anne Jones; brothers, Bobby Cecil and Eddie Weadon.
He is survived by his children, David Jones (Angie) and Beth Hodges (Kurt); grandchildren, Austin Jones (Katelin), Claire Jones Barksdale (Jarrett), Justin and Tony Farmer; great grandson, Jackson Lee Barksdale; brother, Johnny Weadon; sister, Sue Giles (Eddie).
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, P.O. Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375 or Charity of Donor’s Choice.
