George Nicholas "Wes" Kovacevich age 81 of LaMarque died Sunday, January 18, 2026 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services are 3:00pm Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Gulf Coast Foursquare Church in Hitchcock. Visitation will begin at the church at 2:00pm. Graveside services are 10:15am Monday, February 9, 2026, at Houston National Cemetery under the direction of Carnes Brothers Funeral Home.

Wes was born January 13, 1945, in San Diego, California to George Nicholas Kovacevich and Patricia Ann Freeman Kovacevich. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving his country honorably in Vietnam. He was a Boiler-Maker by trade and a hard-working man. He was retired member of the Bandito Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed collecting coins, especially anything having to do with the Navy. He could often be found at his favorite hang-out in La Marque, Murphy's on Main Street. He remained an avid Harley enthusiast who loved his family and really loved to ride.

Preceded in death by his parents George and Patricia Kovacevich; step sister Sharon and brothers Jimmy, Ricky, Paul and Phillip; survivors include his son Shane Kovacevich and wife Anna; daughters Stacie Kovacevich Stroud and husband Andy and Tracie Kovacevich Leflet and husband Jimmy; grandchildren Ashley Kovacevich, Amber Kovacevich, Alicia Bowlin, Cristian Kovacevich, Astain Kovacevich, Daniel Kovacevich, Faith Kovacevich, Alexis Ricard, Hanna Alvarez, Chance De La Cruz, Chelsea Forline, Averi Forline, Koral Forline and Levi Leflet; 17 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
