George Koza Obituary
George was an auto mechanic by trade and was known for his ability to construct and fix just about anything. He worked as a service manager in automobile dealerships for the Gengras Family and the Newman Enterprises. He retired in 2000 as manager of the auto shop at The Hartford. Following his retirement, he drove hearses for Hy's Livery and assisted his son and the other funeral directors at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home in West Hartford.
Besides his beloved wife, George is survived by his son, Richard G. and daughter-in-law Joanne (Faenza) Koza of Wethersfield, CT; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Ruthanne Koza of Horseshoe Bay, TX; brother-in-law, Stanley Perkoski of Newington, CT; nieces, Virginia Mikolowsky and Kimberly Koza Collins; and nephew, Kenneth Koza. He was pre-deceased by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and Buddy Solosky and a nephew, Peter Solosky.
Calling hours will be Sunday, December 28, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. Funeral procession will be Monday, December 29, at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Josephine Bakita at St. James Church, 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Dear Cookie, Ricky, Joanne & Koza Family
We are so sorry to hear about cousin George, our hearts are heavy and our thoughts and prayers are sent to all of you at this difficult time.
We remember as young children Christmas Eve´s at Uncle Johnny and Aunt Helen´s house and all our aunts and cousins celebrating Polish Christmas Eve.. many years ago and cherished memories.

George was a good brother- in law. He was our Best Man when we married and was God Father to our daughter, Kim. He was always thoughtful and helped us many times. When we finally had a family car, he would check it out and fix it. When we moved to Massachusetts, I'll never forget him setting up Kim's crib in her new room. At 6 weeks old it was the first time she slept through the night. He always played with Kim & Kenny on the holidays. We lost contact when we moved to Texas and he never got to visit us here in Texas,

My brother, George was always a good person and cared for everyone with whom he delt. He always protected his customers by providing good service. He was well known and respected in the auto industry. As a big brother helped me with my early jobs. We lost contact when I moved to Texas, but I will always remember him with great affection.
