Anne Wilson "Tummillo", of West Hartford, formerly of Newington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and her favorite music on February 19, 2026. Born Anne Parmenter in
Orange, MA, she was the youngest of seven siblings born to the late Albert Parmenter and Mildred (Sibley) Parmenter. Anne attended Orange High School, where her family and friends affectionally referred to her as "peanut", due to her petite size.
Shortly after graduating high school, Anne accepted a surprise invitation from a former classmate to move to
Hartford, CT, and trailblazed a new life for herself. While in Hartford, Anne worked as a legal assistant to several prominent lawyers. Anne later moved to
Newington, CT, where she raised her two daughters: Dawn and Diane. As a single mom, Anne worked nights and weekends to provide for her daughters. As a career woman, Anne rose from a legal secretary in her early days to become the office manager of a large law firm.
In 1980, Anne met her boyfriend, best friend and life partner of 46 years, William "Bill" Tummillo of West
Hartford, CT. What started as a first date to a Frank Sinatra concert became a lifelong commitment. The couple settled in West Hartford, where they lived together in their home on Brace Road and became a fixture in West Hartford Center. Anne and Bill were referred to as "PB & J" by their friends due to their inseparable bond and deep love for one another. The two often enjoyed hosting cookouts, dinners at the Rockledge Golf Club and summers on Cape Cod with friends and family.
Anne was a devoted grandmother to her three grandchildren: Nicholas, Vincenzo, and Nicolette. From the time they were born, Anne spent nearly every weekend visiting with them. Anne especially enjoyed showing up on Saturday mornings with Dunkin Donuts for her grandchildren and their neighborhood friends. Anne became known as "the grandmother of the neighborhood," a title which she deeply cherished.
Besides her parents, Anne was predeceased by her siblings, Albert Parmenter Jr., Norman Parmenter, Nancy Adams, Elaine Adams and Barbara Maher. Anne is survived by Bill Tummillo; her daughters, Dawn Chambrello-Spoerl (Russ Spoerl) and Diane Lattarulo-Null (Thomas Null); her grandchildren, Nicholas Lattarulo, Vincenzo Chambrello and Nicolette "Lattarulo" Gonzalez (Marcos Gonzalez); her great-grandchildren, Eliyanah Gonzalez and Gabriella Gonzalez; and her brother, Franklin Parmenter. She is also survived by Bill's son, Dominic Tummillo, his wife Lisa Tummillo, and their children, Tyler, Ryan, Brendan and Genoveve.
Anne will be remembered for the life she trailblazed and the family she created, along with her love for jazz music, dancing, and trips with her family to her favorite places, including:
Bar Harbor, ME;
Kennebunkport, ME;
Boston, MA; and most of all,
Newport, RI.
