George Link Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 25, 2026.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of George Phillip Link, age 86, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, who died peacefully on February 19, 2026. George was born on July 28, 1939, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to George and Ruth Link, and was raised in Superior, Wisconsin.

George met Connie, the love of his life and his wife of 67 years, while they were in high school. They began their life together while George served in the U.S. Army in El Paso, Texas. He was a devoted husband, a loving father to his two children, David (Laura) Link and Susan (Jeff Johnson) Link, and a proud grandfather to two grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his family and many friends.

George worked as a Union Electrician for 35 years. After retiring, he and Connie moved to their "happy place", a beloved lake cabin in Long Prairie, Minnesota. There, they welcomed family and friends and created lasting memories, including their much-loved annual Fourth of July celebrations. George and Connie also enjoyed traveling and shared many vacations with those they loved.

George embodied the words of Matthew 25:40–45: "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." He lived this message through his deep commitment to helping others, generously supporting those in need in both Minneapolis and Long Prairie. In addition to his financial generosity, George gave freely of his time, volunteering at food shelves and supporting other charitable organizations close to his heart.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Sharing and Caring Hands at https://sharingandcaringhands.org/donate. The family will hold a private remembrance and burial at a later date.
