Hilda Mayberry Link

Statesville – Hilda Sue Mayberry Link, 88, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 17, 2026.  She was born August 29, 1937 in Iredell County to the late Glenn Mayberry and Mildred Queen Mayberry.  She graduated from Union Grove High School in 1955.  On August 26, 1956 she married her high school sweetheart, Preston Perry Link.  They remained married for 66 years, until his death in November 2022.  Hilda was a faithful pastor’s wife to Perry as he pastored Taylor Springs Baptist Church, North Oak Ridge Baptist Church, Vienna Baptist Church, and Mt. Hebron Baptist Church.  Perry and Hilda also owned and operated Faith Christian Shop in Taylorsville, NC for 38 years.  Surviving are her two sons Richard Link and his wife Tanya, and Phillip Link and his wife Becky.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Allison Lloyd, Lance Lloyd, Meagan Hendren and her husband Dustin, Gregory Link, Preston Link, Jonathan Link and his wife Leah, Joao Carlos Link and his wife Danielle, Karina Link, and Deacon Link.  Also surviving are her great grandchildren Brandon Lloyd, Hunter Lloyd, Raylan Hendren, Willa Hendren, Fenton Hendren, Sawyer Hendren, Luana Link, Miguel Link, Cristina Link, Culberson Link, Olson Link, and Riley Link.  Over the last six years the caregivers at Brookdale Peachtree in Statesville, NC also loved her like family.  Hilda’s family is truly thankful for their love and care for her.  Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 21, 2026 at North Oak Ridge Baptist Church by her son, Rev. Phillip Link.  Burial will follow at church cemetery.  Hilda will lie in-state at Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville on Friday, February 20 from 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM and on Saturday, February 21 from 1:30 to 2:00 PM at North Oak Ridge Baptist Church.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to the mission fund of North Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 2504 North Oak Ridge Church Road, Boonville, NC 27011.  All donations will be given to continue the work started by David and Elwanda Fields in Kenya, West Africa.  Gentry Family Funeral Service in Yadkinville is serving the Link family.
