George T. McWeeney

George Thomas McWeeney, age 64, of Chicago, IL, passed away unexpectedly on June 15, 2025.
George was born in New York and raised in Deerfield, IL, the son of the late George A. McWeeney and Helen Rahill McWeeney. A proud graduate of Deerfield High School and the University of Illinois, George was a lifelong Illini fan who cherished his time on campus-especially as manager of his favorite campus bar, Kams, and his time in Beta Theta Pi Fraternity.
George built a long and successful career as a financial advisor, where he was known as a trusted and steady partner to his clients. He brought the same common sense and loyalty to his friendships and family. He will be remembered for his quick wit, sharp intellect, and knack for storytelling. He had a love for golf, the Chicago Cubs, and winning debates.
George is survived by his loving daughter, Allison, his sister Mary Lynn Sims (Bill), his brother Bob McWeeney (Eileen), and many adoring nieces and nephews.
Over the last five years, George battled and won a courageous fight against metastatic melanoma. He showed unparalleled strength during this time. George's life was taken unexpectedly by a heart attack.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in George's memory to Northwestern's Malnati Brain Tumor Institute or simply by raising a glass in his honor-he would've liked that.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 - 9:30 AM until the Memorial Mass starting at 11:00 AM - Our Lady of Perpetual Help - 1775 Grove Street, Glenview, IL 60025
