Robert Frederic "Bob" Greenebaum

Robert (Bob) Frederic Greenebaum, 67, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 24th, 2026 in Rochester, NY. Bob is survived by his four loving children Meghan T. G. (Paulo) Cabral, Elizabeth T. (Jake Keyel) Greenebaum, James E. (Lou Becker) Greenebaum III, and Daniel T. (Sarah Schlagman) Greenebaum; his loving grandchildren Maria & Paulo Roberto Cabral, Ilana & Olivia Keyel, and Etai & Avichai Levy; and his beloved dog Anubis III. He is also survived by his brother David (Ellen) Greenebaum and many dear cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Born on February 22, 1958, Bob was raised by his parents Jim and Lilli Greenebaum in the Highland Park suburb of Chicago. His middle name, Frederic, came from his grandfather Frederic Greenebaum. Bob attended Deerfield High School and then went on to enroll at Coe College. During his time there he was student body president, had his first dog, Bolo, and most importantly, met his future wife Ferris Todd. He earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and went on to start his career at General Motors, for which he traveled internationally negotiating major contracts. Bob eventually chose to settle down in Rochester, NY to start a family and pursue his own business ventures locally. He joined Alan Saiger and Albert Kasdin as a partner in their accounting firm. He would, over the course of his 35 year tenure, become the managing partner, further growing the business to become the thriving success it is today. Despite his accomplishments in business, Bob always said his greatest achievement was raising four children of whom he was so proud. He was a devoted father whose intelligence, sense of humor, and sage advice shaped their lives and the lives of those around them. Clients, friends, and family were treated to stories of their escapades each winter in his famously humorous holiday letters.

Bob appreciated the outdoors. When relaxing at home, he loved checking on his fruit trees, smoking a cigar in an Adirondack chair in the yard, and mowing the lawn. He also enjoyed listening to podcasts about interesting people and watching a good TV drama. He was a big fan of the movies Patch Adams, Michael, and Phenomenon, and would be sure to tell you he bought each of them three times (VHS, DVD, and Amazon Prime) over the years so he could watch them again and again.Throughout his life, Bob always adored his dogs. If you had the good fortune to meet Bolo, Sparky, Anubis I, Anubis II, or Anubis III, you would know that his dogs were his most trusted companions and, for the last 19 years, the mascots at his office.

Ever the accountant, Bob always saved large trips for the months after tax season. It seems fitting that celebrating his life and honoring his final journey follow that same timeframe.
