George Merwarth Jr.

George Merwarth Jr., 90, a resident of Miami, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Integris Miami Hospital. George was born on February 14, 1935, in Parsons, Kansas to George Sr. and Rhea (Wilson) Merwarth. George was a proud United States Marine Veteran. He worked as a tire builder at B.F. Goodrich and then as a janitor for Miami Public Schools and ran a lawn mowing service. One thing he worked hardest at was being a good neighbor. George was preceded in passing by his parents, his son Michael William Hoizington, and his siblings Peggy Stover, Jo Ann Cook, and Donald Merwarth.
Survivors include his sister Mary Jane Lewis of California and his neighbor who was a great friend Charlotte Wade.
Mr. Merwarth's wishes were to be cremated and placed at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Those services have been placed in the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami.
