Mr. George Clifton Morgan, age 87, of Douglas, Georgia, passed away on Thursday morning, March 26, 2026, at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer.

George was born December 28, 1938, in Douglas, Georgia, to the late Eva Mae Varnadore Morgan and Acie Morgan. He was a man who wore many hats, he was a truck driver for many years for a number of companies including Williams Institutional Food, and he was also store manager for six years of Pic & Save. George was a man who loved to spend time with his family and friends, his grandchildren were his world, and serving the Lord was his passion. He was an active and dedicated member of Mt. Green COGOP and strong believer in the Pentecostal faith. George was preceded in death by his first wife Eva Nell Morgan, one son Jeffery David Morgan, and four siblings: Robert Morgan, Myrtle Morgan Adams, Magalene Morgan Lewis, and Lois Jennett Gillespie.

George is survived by his wife Hazel Mattie Spivey Whitley Morgan of Douglas, Georgia; one son Jimmy Morgan (Brandi) of Waycross, Georgia; five step children: Steve Whitley (Rosa) of Douglas, Georgia, Michael Lavoy Whitley (Lynn) of Willacoochee, Georgia, Barry Whitley (Connie) of Nicholls, Georgia, Timothy Whitley (Andrea) of Alma, Georgia, and Debbie Roberts of Broxton, Georgia; along with 8 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, and a number of extended family members.

George's family will receive friends Friday evening, March 27, 2026, at Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00PM – 9:00PM. His funeral service will be held on Saturday morning, March 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Jowers Chapel with Rev. Marshal Dye, Bishop Leroy Spivey, and Bro. Junior Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Green Cemetery (Ware County).
