George Mullis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home & Crematory on Jan. 16, 2026.
George Allen "Buster" Mullis, lifelong resident of the East End, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, at the age of 90 years old, just 4 days shy of his 91st birthday. He was the devoted Husband of the late Virgie Lois (nee Peters); cherished Father of David Mullis and Deborah (Randy) Rouse; proud Pawpaw of Kendall (Meghann) Rouse and Kyle (Melissa) Rouse; and gentle Great-Grandfather of Kensley, Aubree, Charlotte, Camryn, Ella, and Elijah. He is survived by his siblings, Wanda, Ronnie, Darlene, and Billy. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Alma and George, and his siblings, June Ann, Larry, and Hoddy.

He was a dedicated employee of Homan Interiors as a craftsman of fine furniture refinishing for over 70 plus years. He enjoyed the finer things in life-like bluegrass music and the tune of a good ole' banjo and watching Westerns followed by a peaceful nap. But his most favorite thing of all was doing anything and everything his favorite person, his wife Lois, wanted to do. His favorite athletes were his grandsons, as he spent many weekends enjoying watching them play sports over the years. He was proud being an East Ender and lived life to the fullest from playing "Skirt Games" at Turkey Ridge Park to taking walks along the river to watch the barges pass by. His visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 6 PM-8 PM at Geo. H. Rohde & Son Funeral Home, Mt. Lookout Square. Graveside service will be Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 10 AM at Arlington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Cincinnati, P.O. Box 633597, Cincinnati, OH 45263-3597, https://hospiceofcincinnati.org/donate/ as we are grateful for their wonderful care in his final days. George leaves this world to join his wife, Lois, once again and will be deeply missed.
